Television Reporter. Dive Master. World Traveler. Jetpack Pilot. Adventurer. Sailor.
Thank You for taking time to visit my website! If you're looking to get to know me, buy me a beer! If you're too far to do that, then this page will be put to good use. I'm a native Texan and a 20-12 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Journalism. Since graduation I've had the pleasure of working with some of the best people in the business. During School, I took internships at both Conan on TBS and The Colbert Report before finally landing a job as a reporter in California. My background is rather diverse. I've worked in every industry from Real Estate Agent to Bartender, Zipline Tour Guide to Production Coordinator. But of course my true passion is finding the adventure in life... and so far I feel like I'm off to a good start.
You see, I get a kick out of telling stories. The world is a beautiful place... and although we may all be different, we all share the common bond of humanity. My journey started out a lot like yours. Each day in middle school I had to wake up very early each morning to catch the bus. Every single day I would make breakfast, gather my school clothes, and watch the "Today Show". I was difficult not to daydream that I was there on Easter Island or out speaking with Olympians. I couldn't wait to travel the world and share the adventure that awaits. Today my goals are the same, but now I don't have to wait until after recess to make it happen.
While I do work as a professional television reporter, I still stand by the fact that you need to have a hard day at the office now and then. So, I also work as Jetpack America's only Female Pilot and Flight Instructor in Mission Bay down in Sunny San Diego. And honestly, I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my time. Not only do I get to teach people how to fly these bad boys on their own... I also get to perform beside some of the best tricksters in the business. Tell me the move you want to learn, and I've got you covered. Corkscrew? Done. Backwards Flying? Piece of cake. Backflip? Well, haha still working on that one.
When I'm not working as a reporter or jetpack pilot I have another passion, scuba diving. Most recently I was crowned as Miss SCUBA International 2014 and to me, it's just another one of those incredible things I can do in an effort to explore the world. I hope that through my travels and through marine conservation I can encourage others to explore the ocean as the last frontier here on earth. I'm a sponsored athlete under Body Glove and Dive N' Surf. Excitingly enough, they have agreed to help me with my journey of inspiring others.
And through all that, I have somehow found a bit of time to work in the "family business". I'm the Social Media Director and a Writer for the sailing magazine Cruising Outpost, which was started by my grandfather Robert Lipkin, AKA Bob Bitchin'. There really is no feeling like adventure by boat. From Bora Bora to the Caribbean and up to the San Juan Islands I've sailed... and anytime I'm not sailing, I'm trying to plan another date of travel. There is such a vast amount of incredible things in this world to experience and since travel and people are my passions... I hope to make reporting the world my career. Remember: There's nothing wrong with a long road ahead as long as you've got a great view.
